The challenge
DAZN successfully disrupted the market when it launched in 2016. By 2020, the focus was growth. It needed to expand operations into 195 global markets and onto all popular TV platforms, including Samsung TV, PlayStation, and Amazon Fire Stick, and it needed a modern technology platform to do all of this.
The solution
Crosstide rebuilt DAZN’s complex, monolithic platform into an agile new serverless, micro-frontend architecture on Amazon Web Services.
We led the replatforming project, reduced product development times and shaped a new product-led approach to achieve the scale DAZN needed to stay competitive in on-demand sports broadcasting.
Crosstide helped establish a new development centre in Amsterdam and developed a way of supporting some 30 TV platforms— without having to build native apps for each.
The result
Crosstide created new cross-functional teams, simplified the web platform for a global scale, and ported the DAZN web application to all key TV platforms. It also helped establish a high-performance development centre in Amsterdam and boosted CX, all of which enabled DAZN’s successful growth.
From start to ‘see ya next time’, working with Crosstide was great. There was no sales period, immediately they were an extension of our internal teams – asking the right questions and taking the right long term approach. They brought in high-quality teams fast, investing time to match our culture. When we were pressured to move quicker, they didn’t slow us down; they helped us accelerate.”
