The challenge
If you operate in the world of fast-moving online property portals and real estate software products, you need to transform quickly and launch new capabilities fast.
To stay ahead of the competition and underpin innovation, Zoopla needed to give its developers access to a single tech stack that enhanced collaboration and made it easy for engineers to switch between projects.
Code-named ‘Project Bedrock', the move to a new technology stack would optimise Zoopla’s developer resources and make them interchangeable.
The solution
Working with Crosstide, Zoopla enabled its engineering teams to work smarter and faster by making it easier to configure, run, and learn. The new stack reduces the cognitive burden on engineers as they innovate the next generation of products.
Crosstide also helped Zoopla improve its capabilities in listing properties, engaging with estate agents, and increasing property enquiry conversion rates.
The results
Within a year, Project Bedrock had delivered a new rendering stack, a new content management system, and a new multi-variate testing tool. It had also decoupled front- and back-end development and launched a new and improved property search page, helping to attract new estate agents and retain existing ones.
We’ve still got tons of plans. You haven’t seen anything close to what the Zoopla business is capable of yet. Crosstide has been a big part of that success."
