The challenge
OVO's cloud platform had developed over time across AWS, GCP, and Azure, shaped by decentralised decisions and acquisitions. As the platform continued to grow, there was an opportunity to create a clearer shared view of the application landscape, strengthen product ownership, and give teams a more coordinated roadmap for platform decisions.
That context made delivery more complex across Platform, SRE, and Infrastructure teams, particularly as production workloads continued to expand. The priority was to build stronger foundations while maintaining delivery momentum.
The solution
Crosstide worked alongside OVO's engineers to build a product backlog and phased roadmap for the platform MVP. We co-designed and co-built core GCP services including CloudSQL, Cloud Storage, and PubSub, while defining a VPC Service Controls security strategy and Terraform-based Datadog observability.
We also supported the architecture decision process to clarify how the platform would serve teams and how a cleaner operating model could improve collaboration across platform functions.
The results
The engagement supported continued adoption across the platform, which has now seen more than 100 projects deployed into the GCP environment. That progress reflects a platform that teams could use with greater confidence, alongside a clearer delivery path for future work.
These outcomes point to stronger foundations for ongoing delivery, with a product direction and operating model better able to support growth over time.
